The Splinter Group is:
The original Port Townsend Woodworker's Show – organized and presented by Jim Tolpin and John Marckworth with the help of woodworking community volunteers – was an eagerly anticipated yearly event from 1996 through 2001.
The Splinter Group formed in 2006 to revive the tradition of the Port Townsend Woodworker's Show. The Splinter Group are Steve Habersetzer, Michael Hamilton, Bob Larson, Tim Lawson, John Marckworth and Seth Rolland – all professional woodworkers.
The purpose of the show is to introduce the people of Port Townsend and the Puget Sound area to the community of diverse and talented woodworkers that exists in our midst, and to provide an opportunity for the woodworkers to present their work directly to the public in a relaxed and informal setting. Each year we hope to get entries from all branches of woodworking in Port Townsend and surrounding areas: furniture and cabinet makers, instrument and bow makers, boat builders, turners and carvers.
