I started making lamps about 8 years ago when my wife and I wanted new lamps but found nothing appealing on the commercial market. I became fascinated by the natural characteristics , colors and textures of exotic woods, and how the appearances of the woods interacted in various combinations  and configurations.

I try to design table and floor lamps that emphasize the stunning features of the woods, and to choose papers for the lamp shades that complement the lamps.

Now, at age 70, I intend to make only a few more lamps and have some directly available at my home, so they are no longer shown at the William's Gallery in Port Townsend or at NW Fine Woodworking in Seattle, though some remain at the The Wood Merchant in La Conner.
